System będzie oparty na kontroli wizyjnej oraz funkcji analizy otoczenia pojazdu za pomocą kamery. Zostaną one umieszczone na nowym układzie SoC (system-on-chip) Mobileye, a wspólnie opracowywane algorytmy fuzji danych na platformach obliczeniowych Intela. Kolejną zastosowaną technologią będzie Road Experience Management, która umożliwi precyzyjną lokalizację w czzasie rzeczywistym i odpowiednie odwzorowanie otoczenia pojazdu.
Stworzenie samochodów autonomicznych jest elementem strategii BMW "Number ONE > NEXT". - Po naszej inwestycji w technologię map wysokiej rozdzielczości HERE współpraca z Intelem i Mobileye jest dużym krokiem ku wprowadzeniu samoprowadzących się pojazdów.
